Freight management and contract logistics specialist CEVA Logistics, will host a stock buffer for Italian tyre maker, FinTyre, by storing 90,000 tyres at its TyreCity warehouse in northern Italy.
CEVA describes TyreCity as “the sector specific hub fully dedicated to warehousing, handling and cross docking of tyre products.” It is located in Somaglia, in the Italian province of Lodi, about 50km to the south of Milan.
Nicola Melillo, general manager of Fintyre, said: “With the opening of TyreCity, we decided to rely on CEVA for warehousing management of our stock buffer, expanding our relationship that already includes imports flow management of our products from the Far East.”
Melillo believes Fintyre will see faster time to market as a result.
