On 11 October 2023, marketplace experts will come together in London to explore the ever-evolving ecommerce channel landscape at the second ChannelX World event, with advancements in technology a key theme in this year’s packed programme.
The opening session will see Booking.com’s Charlotte Munro explore the the implications of artificial intelligence (AI) technology for marketplaces. Her presentation will look at mastering Generative AI such as Chat GPT to engage customers with authentic messaging and next level personalisation.
Before lunch Mei Chen, GM, head of fashion, luxury and lifestyle, Alibaba Group, will cover how AR and VR technologies are being increasingly integrated into marketplaces and social commerce to enhance the online shopping experience.
Furthermore Donna Chen, marketing director at Virtua, will ask “where to start” with the metaverse. With the technology still in its infancy, her session will look to answer questions such as how can brands research the metaverse? And when will they see ROI?
The agenda will also cover the evolving landscape of marketplaces, customer loyalty and the power of social media for this sector.
“Our primary focus is on bringing together the region’s leading retailers, brands, and merchants to unlock untapped channels. We will be delving into discussions on both traditional ecommerce sales channels, such as marketplaces and social platforms, as well as the more recent additions like retailer-owned marketplaces and retail media networks,” said Shane White, VP of events at Internet Retailing.
