Clipper makes fashion statement with Zara

DeliveryX

High street fashion retailer Zara has brought Clipper Logistics in to handle online order fulfilment at its new 340,000 square feet distribution centre in Northampton.
The Leeds-based company announced today it has signed a new long term contract with Fashion Retail SAU, a subsidiary of Inditex, which owns the fashion brand Zara. Inditex, a Spanish multinational clothing company headquartered in Arteixo, Galicia, currently has over 6,460 stores in 88 countries.

Clipper Logistics was founded by Steve Parkin in 1992, employs almost 3,000 people and operates in Germany and the UK.

The company provides consultancy-led services within the online fashion and general merchandise sectors to clients such as Harvey Nichols, ASOS, John Lewis Partnership, Asda, Morrisons, New Look, Tesco and Sainsbury’s.

Earlier this month, Clipper announced it had agreed heads of terms with John Lewis to provide a range of retail support services from a new distribution centre, under a proposed 10 year agreement.

The new distribution centre will be located in the Milton Keynes area, and will provide in excess of 300,000 square feet of capacity. Clipper is in the process of selecting the final location for the operation. Initial activity will commence in mid-2016 to support John Lewis’ new distribution centre in Magna Park, Milton Keynes.
