Menzies grows ecommerce presence

In a deal that comes into effect today, Menzies Distribution is to collect export parcels and packages on behalf of B2C Europe’s retail customers. This is the second ecommerce-based deal Menzies has won this year, the other being with wnDirect.

Forsyth Black, Managing Director of Menzies Distribution, said: “The deal with B2C Europe is another important step in our continued expansion within the UK’s e-commerce market. With an unrivalled knowledge of the UK’s delivery routes and a network of more than 1,900 vehicles, Menzies will provide B2C Europe with the perfect partner to expand their capability, allowing them to recruit retailers from a much wider area than currently.”

B2C flagB2C Europe is the leading cross-border distribution provider in Europe with operations and offices in 10 countries. The UK operation specialises in processing mixed mail and parcels from customers in the UK. The company’s highly advanced software and sorting system enables it to select the most efficient route for each item.

Stuart Rivett, Managing Director of B2C Europe (UK), said: “Given consumers’ increasing demands and high expectations when it comes to delivery, it is important that carriers start working together in order to meet these challenges and alleviate pressures. The deal with Menzies will not only provide our logistics services with more choice and greater flexibility, but also helps us at B2C Europe to widen our customer reach within the UK market.”

Freight Brokers adds Body Editions

Breakthrough fashion brand Body Editions is outsourcing international time critical, sample, and production shipments to Freight Brokers, which will provide track and trace, and electronic proof-of-delivery services.

The label, which specialises in bodysuits, is expanding into new markets and recently became available for purchase at NET-A-PORTER, Avenue 32, and Alex Eagle.

The brand has a wide fan base that includes the likes of Carine Roitfeld and Cara Delevingne.

“Freight Brokers really stood out as a company that understands the supply chain through and through, whilst consistently delivering the highest level of service,” said Body Editions founder Raquel Franco. “We look forward to a mutually beneficial relationship that we expect will only grow as we expand into new markets.”

“We ensure our customers get the best rates available by working closely with all of the major carriers, and we are looking forward to bringing this benefit to Body Editions as they continue to grow,” said Ben Keisner, Sales Director, Freight Brokers.

In the Pink(ish)

Online beauty products retailer, Pinkish, which sends out around 1,600 orders per month, is bringing in NetDespatch as it attempts to streamline its shipping processes.

The NetDespatch system – SellerDynamics – handles fulfilment and prioritisation of all online orders placed on eBay, Amazon and the Pinkish’s own site.

Order information from all channels is consolidated onto a single screen. Once a parcel is selected for despatch, a single sheet is printed, containing the order details, the customer invoice, and the Royal Mail 2D barcoded shipping label (provided to SellerDynamics by NetDespatch), ensuring that every parcel has the correct paperwork. The solution also produces the required end-of-the-day manifest for the Royal Mail collection driver, and automatically sends the data to Royal Mail’s Online Business Account system.

Linda Shirley, director of Pinkish, said: “Automating our order fulfilment and despatch processes through NetDespatch and SellerDynamics has improved the documentation we produce and made us immediately compliant with the new Royal Mail labelling requirements.”
