Wincanton, a leading supply chain partner for UK businesses, has been awarded a three-year contract by furniture retailer The DFS Group to provide home fulfilment services across the UK.
The contract builds on Wincanton’s existing three-year partnership with DFS, which has seen the group provide its premium ‘white glove’ two-person home delivery service for its Dwell furniture brand.
The expanded contract will include services relating to a broader range of products from DFS’s ‘Home’ categories. Wincanton will oversee end-to-end management of all customer orders from suppliers to point of delivery and return, ensuring a seamless customers experience and helping to support DFS’ ecommerce growth strategy.
Alex Salden, managing director, The Sofa Delivery Company on behalf of DFS Group, said: “The DFS Group’s relationship with Wincanton has developed over a number of years, initially through our Dwell business and now as we look to move further with Wincanton to fulfil our ‘Home’ (non-sofa) categories. Wincanton and The DFS Group have worked together to develop the Home fulfilment supply routes which go live for our customers in the coming months.”

This is the latest furniture retailer to extend its partnership with Wincanton. In August, Loaf also added an additional three-years onto its contract with the supply chain partner. This has seen it fulfil orders across the UK and make around 50,000 deliveries each year.
Loaf also benefits from Wincanton’s investment in a dedicated state-of-the-art 120,000 sq.ft. ecommerce distribution centre in Harlow, Essex.
