Editor’s column: supply chains, collaborations, and partnerships

DeliveryX

In last week’s newsletter we told you about the first of our interviews with EDX 2015 speakers. It was with Guy Meisl, Head of European Distribution at Deckers Outdoor Corporation.
This week, the second EDX speaker interview is available – it’s with Dr Jonathan Gorst of Sheffield Business School. On 26 March, at EDX 2015 he will be talking about returns, more specifically how to find the commercial opportunity buried in the challenge of dealing with them.

Elsewhere on eDelivery this week, you’ll find top tips for sending deliveries to China. More specifically, how to minimize customs delays.

We’ve also got an infographic, courtesy of TradeGecko, looking at supply chain disruption and the growing importance of online marketplaces.

Collaboration and partnership are two of the cornerstones of success in our industry, and central to any successful relationship is a real understanding of what’s expected of you. With that in mind, Beth Chapman, sales director at P2P eSolutions shares with us her top 10 list of services retailers expect from their delivery partners.

If you haven’t already, why not subscribe to eDelivery and get our weekly newsletter summarising the main stories we’ve covered – you’ll find details on that here.

You can also join our LinkedIn group for analysis and networking as it happens, or if you want your updates in real-time find us on Twitter @edeliverynet.
