Frozen food specialist Iceland has teamed up with Uber Eats once again to introduce rapid deliveries across London.

While the companies currently work together to deliver from 890 Iceland stores across the UK and more recently in Northern Ireland, the new offering Uber Eats Market will use Uber’s technology and Iceland’s in-store infrastructure to deliver goods in 20 minutes.

Uber Eats Market will offer over 1,000 branded and non-branded items from Iceland, including daily essentials such as food cupboard items, fresh and frozen meat and poultry, and basic toiletries. The service will initially be trialled from stores in densely populated areas of the UK capital, including in Poplar, on South Bank and Walworth Road.

Justin Addison, international and wholesale director at Iceland Foods, said: “We’re excited to partner with Uber Eats on this new venture expanding our online and delivery service offering. The speed at which we will be able to deliver customers’ shopping to their doors will be unrivalled and we’re looking forward to seeing this partnership develop.”

While, Uber Eats UK’s head of commerce Alex Troughton described the trial as making Uber Eats “the partner of choice for retailers”.

Last week, Boots launched a new partnership with the rapid delivery firm from 14 key locations across the UK.
