Supermarket Iceland has added 675 stores, including The Food Warehouse locations, to the Uber Eats app as it expands its partnership with the rapid delivery provider.

Some 890 Iceland stores across the UK will now feature on the Uber Eats platform, this follows the news last month that the partnership will roll out its grocery delivery services across Northern Ireland.

Uber Eats UK, head of commerce, Alex Troughton, said: “We are delighted to be expanding our partnership with Iceland across the whole of the UK.

“We know that more and more customers are using our platform to order all their grocery needs, including the weekly shop, and with this partnership with Iceland, even more will be able to at the touch of a button.”

Following a success trial in 2019 which included 100 London stores, the partnership has gradually increased the number of locations across the country. The collaboration enables customers to order 4,400 Iceland products including fresh groceries, as well as exclusive frozen food ranges from brands such as Greggs, Cathedral City, Harry Ramsden’s and Slimming World, via the Uber Eats app.

Once an order is accepted it is picked in-store by Iceland’s staff before being collected and delivered by a courier using the Uber Eats platform.

“Since the partnership between Iceland and Uber Eats began, it has continued to exceed our expectations,” added Justin Addison, Iceland and The Food Warehouse international and wholesaler director.

“Rolling the service out fully has meant we have been able to deliver quality own brand products, as well as exclusive big brands, direct to customers’ homes in under 30 minutes. We’re certain there will be more to come from this partnership in the future.”
