Upmarket department store Fortnum & Mason has extended its contract with iForce for use of its Gateway cross channel order fulfilment and warehouse management service. The relationship between the two has been in place for almost four years, and includes the supply of products to Fortnum & Mason’s iconic store in Piccadilly, central London, along with outlets at St Pancras station, Heathrow and Dubai. It also includes online order fulfillment and saw Fortnum & Mason able to offer online customers the ability to choose which items to include in Christmas hampers.
The Christmas 2015 period saw a strong performance from Fortnum & Mason with like-for-like sales increasing by 15% year-on-year during the five weeks to 3 January. Online sales were up 38% and hamper sales increased by 26% on the previous year.

The retailer will continue to deploy iForce Pathfinder, the advanced carrier management solution powered by Route Genie software, to support its operations. In 2015 Fortnum & Mason also extended its partnership with iForce and relocated its tea packing process from its retail outlets to the Sutton warehouse.

Nigel McGinley, managing director of Fortnum & Mason, said: “iForce has provided Fortnum & Mason with a vast number of valuable services during the last three and a half years, which has helped us to develop and grow our online proposition whilst maintaining our focus on first-class service. Therefore, it made perfect sense to extend our partnership.”

Brian Gaunt, CEO at iForce, said: “Fortnum & Mason is one of the UK’s most recognisable retailers and we look forward to continuing our successful relationship. Our dedicated team in Sutton, combined with our proprietary software, ensures we can provide world-class fulfilment and carrier management solutions that fit the requirements of any business.”

Meanwhile, MetaPack is in an equally ebullient mood, following the announcement that 66% of new business came from the European mainland in its last financial year, which also saw a 25% year-on-year growth.

Patrick Wall, CEO of MetaPack said, “2015 was an outstanding year for MetaPack which saw us signing more and more enterprise sized customers and serving them globally. Some of the leading retail brands that have joined our customer community in the last 12 months include PVH Corp – which owns brands such as Tommy Hilfiger and Calvin Klein, Pets at Home, Brands4Friends, Carrefour and FNAC. We are proud to announce that, of Europe’s top 50 online retailers, a third are now using MetaPack.”
