John Lewis Partnership has pushed back its final dates for click and collect and its ecommerce delivery window for “last minute shoppers”.

Next-day deliveries will be available for shoppers until 4pm on 22 December. While, customers will be able to use click and collect until midday on 23 December with orders available for collection from more than 360 John Lewis and Waitrose branches on Christmas Eve.

“While some retailers closed their delivery windows early, we’ve been able to extend ours even closer to Christmas – which is great news for all those last minute shoppers,” said Pippa Wicks, John Lewis executive director.

“Our teams are working flat out to guarantee customers’ deliveries before Christmas and, while we have great capacity, slots are limited so book soon to avoid disappointment.”

The retailer had previously removed the £30 minimum spend threshold on its website for click and collect orders, in a move to help “spread the cost of Christmas”. It has since reported its biggest-ever day for click and collect orders was on the 18 and 19 December, an increase of 25% compared to last year.
