Lidl one-hour delivery expands to Barcelona and Valencia

DeliveryX

Lidl is offering one-hour delivery in the Spanish cities of Barcelona and Valencia through a partnership with the Lola Market shopping platform.
The discount supermarket chain is expanding its collaboration with Lola Market from Madrid to the two cities.

Customers access the Lola Market platform through its website or app, then enter their delivery postcode, select a store and choose the time slot they want to receive the order in. Lola Market’s team of shoppers then go to stores and fulfil the customer’s orders, offering customers a range of over 2200 items. Initial customers will receive a €10 discount on their first purchase worth over €35.

Lidl has been trialling the service in Madrid since May. It has since expanded from the city centre to other municipalities in the Madrid metropolitan area.

Carlos González-Vilardell, director of marketing, communication and digital at Lidl Spain, said: “The collaboration with Lola Market in Madrid is being very satisfactory. And users are delighted with the service. Our client from the capital is seeing in this service an alternative to make the purchase of food and fresh in Lidl and values especially that our products are sold at the same price as in stores.

“The expanding the service to two new big cities will allow us to continue winning experience in the online sale of food and to know better the tastes of the consumer.”

Luis Pérez del Val, CEO Lola Market, said that “the great reception of our Madrid users have encouraged us to extend the agreement with Lidl supermarkets to Barcelona, much of its metropolitan area and Valencia. “
