Maersk Growth invests in zero-emission delivery network HIVED

Maersk Growth, the venture arm of the Danish shipping company, has invested in London-based logistics company HIVED, as the two companies work to transform the supply chain industry and parcel delivery.

The investment in HIVED directly supports Maersk Growth’s efforts to digitise, democratise, and decarbonise supply chains by backing new business models and technologies. Its previous early investments include the likes of Forto, Huboo, and Einride.

Oliver Finch, partner at Maersk Growth, said: “We are delighted to join the HIVED journey. Murvah, Mathias and the HIVED team are doing an amazing job of creating positive last-mile and doorstep brand experiences.

“HIVED’s intelligent use of data and process innovation, coupled with a strong focus on people and culture, is already yielding exciting results. The zero tailpipe emission fleet provides practical and scalable ways for brands to improve their e-commerce service whilst tracking and meaningfully reducing scope 3 emissions”.

HIVED was founded with a vision to transform ecommerce deliveries from the ground up by leveraging process innovation, data, software, and vertical integration. Having raised an initial £2m in September 2021. HIVED reported that its revenue has rapidly grown by more than 35% month over month since inception.

The team have scaled to over 100 and now operates across Greater London — with plans to continue expansion early next year. With the largest zero-emission fleet in the UK, nationwide collection, and same-day, next-day, and two-day delivery options, HIVED provides a delivery experience that is designed to be both sustainable and affordable.

Murvah Iqbal, co-founder and CEO at HIVED, added: “Our vision at HIVED is to build the future of parcel delivery at scale. We could not be more excited to bring Maersk Growth on our journey. Maersk has a fantastic trusted reputation in the shipping industry and really knows what scale looks like, given they ship roughly 20% of all ocean freight.

“We’re excited to partner with Maersk Growth as we look to expand into new geographies and countries. Given the shared customer base, there is endless room and potential for collaboration”.

In August, the start-up partnered with ecommerce delivery technology firm Metapack joining its Delivery Management Platform.
