The epitome of fast food is to become even faster with a home delivery service launching in the UK this summer, reportedly in June.
Although McDonald’s claims that the exact location has to be decided it has confirmed that the trial is happening and that it comes in response to the growing hunger for food delivery services in the UK.
“It is no secret we have been looking at the potential of delivery in recent months,” said a spokesperson for McDonald’s. “This service is offered in other markets around the world and its growth within the UK, continues to gather pace. Listening to our customers, we know that this is a route they would like us to explore, and I can confirm that we are looking to launch a small delivery pilot this summer. Specific locations to be included within this pilot are yet to be decided.”
It is believed that the company will look to an external delivery company to drop off the food to its hungry customers. McDonald’s move follows the revelation last week that fellow fast food retailer KFC was launching home deliveries across 30 restaurants in Greater London through Just Eat.
