More than 1,100 attendees turned out for this year’s Delivery Conference held at the Park Plaza Hotel, Westminster Bridge in London, Patrick Wall, CEO of MetaPack told eDelivery this afternoon.
The record turnout was in evidence at some sessions, which were standing room only – notably when Yodel’s Executive Chairman Dick Stead talked about the importance of customer satisfaction, better communication and peak planning.

“This is our sixth year,” Wall said. “And in that time, the Delivery Conference has grown from about 150 to 1,100 attendees. We specifically invite carriers to get up and talk to the audience, predominantly retailers, and give them their pitch – so the audience can understand what services and innovations are coming.”

Among the themes being discussed were delivery innovations, customer expectations and planning for extraordinary peaks.

“We see our role as helping all the parties involved get into a collaborative conversation, focused on positive outputs,” Wall added.

The day will conclude with the MetaPack Delivery Excellence Awards.
