MPD Group rebrands as Sorted and launches what it claims is game-changing delivery app

MPD Group, the company behind delivery management platform Electio, has rebranded as the Sorted.Group and is launching a new app which it claims will be a game changer in the industry.
It says the new app will put both retailers and consumers in charge of the delivery experience.

The app works by bringing together all of a consumer’s different delivery and returns correspondence into one app that can be customised in a click. It also offers options to track deliveries and returns through Facebook and WhatsApp and works as a single unified paperless returns app.

Retailers can also bring their logistics partners into the customer journey, creating a seamless delivery experience as well as being able to quickly take advantage of the rapid innovations that carriers are bringing to market.

eDelivery.net reported earlier this year how Brody Buhler, Global Managing Director at Accenture, believed that retailers and their delivery partners have to respond to the customer move towards mobile shopping, the need to be in control of their delivery experience and how technology is key, stating: “Consumers expect the shipping event to be just as mobile as the purchase they made.”

“Consumer expectations have reached an all-time high as retail giants such as Amazon continually push the art of the possible on delivery,” said David Grimes, founder and CEO at Sorted.Group. “Customers now expect their goods to arrive when they want it, where they want it.”

“Today’s consumer is used to being able to order a taxi, find love, rent a house in a foreign country and listen to whatever music they want with the swipe of a finger, so why can’t they get their parcel redirected to work instead of their home two hours before it’s due? Sorted is harnessing and developing tech to embrace this change to give customers what they want.”

Grimes said the delivery expierence has to evolve. “When they’re spending their hard-earned cash, consumers don’t differentiate. Every other service provider is giving them experiences that they can fit around their lifestyle at the touch of the button – they believe that deliveries should be like this too. Increasingly, they want to control how they receive and return their goods and if retailers are to keep up, then how they get a parcel into a consumer’s hands has to evolve from just delivery management and into ‘a delivery experience’.

Grimes claims that with the Sorted app delivery has become a completely customisable and customer-centric event. “Our tech unifies a customer’s expectations with a retailer’s endeavours and the fast-moving innovations and services that carriers are continually bringing to the market to create the best possible delivery experience for everyone,” he said.

The Sorted.Group now comprises Sorted, Sorted.Pro (formerly electio), Sorted.Hero and MyParcelDelivery.com.
