Norbert Dentressangle celebrates Missguided fashion decision

DeliveryX

Online fashion retailer, Missguided, has signed a seven year deal with Norbert Dentressangle to manage its international e-fulfilment operation, which will see Norbert Dentressangle and Missguided jointly invest in a new, purpose-built fulfilment centre in Manchester, replacing Missguided’s existing facility in Salford.

Founded in 2009 by Nitin Passi, Missguided already has websites serving the UK, US, France and Australia and is planning further geographical expansion, in line with its plan to become a truly global brand.

The retailer, which targets 16-34 year old female consumers, adds up to 1,000 new products to its website each month. It achieved a 71% increase in sales over the last six months (September 2014 – February 2015) and was ranked No. 5 in the 2014 Sunday Times Fast Track 100 companies.

With effect from 30 March 2015, Norbert Dentressangle will take over the running of Missguided’s existing fulfilment centre, including the transfer of more than 250 colleagues currently employed by Missguided.

Norbert Dentressangle will be responsible for all activities within the centre, including the receipt of goods from Missguided’s suppliers, order picking, marshalling, packing, despatch and returns management.

Representing a multi-million pound joint investment, work on the new facility will start this summer with go-live scheduled for Q1/Q2 2016. Thanks to a mezzanine structure, the 250,000 sq ft facility will provide total floor space in excess of one million sq ft, more than five times the size of the current facility.

Missguided’s founder, Nitin Passi said: “A great customer experience is a key part of our strategy and as the business continues to grow rapidly we have made the decision to partner with a world leader in logistics so we can not only maintain our experience but also improve our service as we continue to grow.

“Norbert Dentressangle were the obvious partner for us as we continue to grow our business. In addition to their proven capability in retail, they have also demonstrated a highly flexible and genuinely strategic, long-term partnership approach and we very much look forward to working with them going forward.”

Other Norbert Dentressangle retail customers include ASOS, House of Fraser, Shop Direct Group and Surfdome.
