DHL Express has announced its UK prices for time definite and day definite products will increase by 3.9% as of 1 January 2016. Price adjustments in other parts of the country will vary from country to country, the carrier has said, as part of its standard annual price review procedure.
“The whole essence of DHL Express is about providing outstanding service quality for our customers throughout the world,” said Ken Allen, CEO of DHL Express. “Our annual price increase enables us to continue investing in our international time definite network and to maintain our leading service quality. Our major investment announcements in 2015 have included new hubs in Brussels, Belgium, and Singapore, and an expanded Americas hub in Cincinnati, U.S. We are also continuing to invest in the Middle East and Africa, where we have unrivalled networks, and to add freighter aircraft, particularly to strengthen our intercontinental connections.”

Parcel2Go, the parcel delivery comparison website, has introduced a new price guarantee, which means the company will match any like-for-like service that is found to be cheaper elsewhere. For example, if somebody finds MyHermes Parcel Shop services cheaper than the £2.16 (plus VAT) offered by Parcel2Go, then the company will lower its rates to match.

Robert Mead, marketing manager at Parcel2Go, said the business is determined to maintain its status as the UK’s cheapest parcel delivery specialist, and this latest move will benefit consumers and businesses alike.

“By guaranteeing the lowest prices on the market, anybody who needs to send out a parcel – whether they’re a multinational business or an independent eBay seller – knows that they can get everything they need from us. There’s no need to trawl the web. Aside from offering the best rates, we’ve also worked hard to ensure that our website is the easiest to use, and that the levels of customer service we provide are second to none.”
