Tesco is to extend its same day click and collect service from Monday. Customers in more than 300 locations across the UK will now be able to order an unlimited number of items before 9am and book a two-hour window to collect their groceries from midday onwards when the service launches next week.
The new slot adds to the existing service where customers can order by 1pm to pick up from 4pm.

The food giant says it has seen a 20% increase in the number of customers using its click and collect service in the past year with one in ten of click and collect orders now placed on the same day.

Adrian Letts, managing director of online at Tesco, said the growing proportion of customers using its same day option meant the retailer wanted to improve convenience for customers. “More customers than ever are choosing to use our grocery Click and Collect service which is we’ve decided to introduce a new same day collection slot,” he said.

“We offer a range of ways to shop with Tesco and Click and Collect means customers can choose to pick up their shopping at a time and location that suits them, without having to hit the aisles themselves.”

The retailer also offers same day grocery home delivery to customers in London and the South East where customers can order by 1pm to have their shopping on their doorstep from 6pm onwards.

The Click and Collect service is now priced between £0 and £4 depending on time and day of collection. Click and Collect and Same Day Delivery are free of charge for all Delivery Saver customers.
