Tesco rolls out Gorillas to Manchester

Uber Eats is partnering with Tesco to help expand the reach of the grocery giant’s Whoosh fast grocery delivery service.
The retailer launched Whoosh, which allows deliveries of groceries in 60 minutes, in May 2021. The service is now available in 200 of its Express stores with plans to expand to 600 stores this year.

The partnership with Uber Eats will cover 20 stores including Edinburgh, Bradford, Portsmouth, Norwich, St Albans and Letchworth.

Alex Troughton, head of new verticals and grocery at Uber Eats UK, said: “It’s clear that the needs of businesses and consumers have been rapidly evolving in recent years and that trend is accelerating. This exciting new partnership will harness the best of Uber’s technology to power superfast Tesco deliveries across the UK.”

Tesco is also trialling superfast delivery with a Gorillas pilot which operates from its Thornton Heath store.
