The German and US parcel delivery markets are both set to double in size by 2025, according to a new report published by consultants McKinsey.
The McKinsey report, entitled ‘Parcel Delivery: The Future of Last Mile‘ also indicates that same-day delivery and instant delivery will then account for more than 20% of the market.
The report also looks at the likely growth of new delivery options, such as drones, droids, driverless vehicles and parcel lockers and advises readers to get ready for a world where autonomous vehicles deliver 80% of parcels. The prediction is that this degree of automation will be a reality ten years from now.
