Volumes up for parcel locker specialist InPost

Parcel locker network group InPost has reported volumes up in its key markets of UK, Poland and France.
Total Q1 volumes grey by 68% YoY and 18% on a like-for-like markets basis (excluding Mondial Relay), off a challenging Q1 2021 base impacted by Covid-19, and outperforming expectations in many markets. Volumes in Poland were up by 16%, outperforming the estimated 15% growth for the market while in France, company volumes grew 8%, in contrast to the market’s estimated 16% volume decline. Overall Mondial Relay market volumes rose 10% in the quarter. In the UK volumes grew by 157%.

The company deployed 1,905 automated parcel machines (APMs) during the quarter, equating to nearly 30 APMs deployed every business day. In Poland, APM numbers reached 17,357, bringing 57% of the population within a 7-minute walk of an InPost machine.

In France, the company is accelerating automation to enhance the standardisation, simplicity, and satisfaction of Mondial Relay’s existing out-of-home service. If follows the purchase in July 2021 by InPost of Mondial Relay, which operates in France, Benelux and the Iberian Peninsula. The deal made the Polish company Europe’s largest e-commerce delivery platform. In 2021 InPost and Mondial Relay delivered a total of more than 517 million parcels.
