Wonky veg home delivery scheme expands in London

DeliveryX

A social enterprise which started in south-west London delivering misshapen fruit and veg to homes in the region has now expanded to south-east London.
The Oddbox wonky veg scheme sells misshapen and over or undersized fruits and vegetables which in most cases would otherwise not be sold or would be sold in wholesale markets for very low prices or for animal feed or processing.

Oddbox visits 20 local suppliers, including farms and markets to source seasonal produce that will not be stocked in supermarkets. The products are then quality checked and packed into fruit and veg boxes before they are delivered directly to homes in South London.

As well as private homes the company has also started delivering wonky fruit boxes to health centres, workspaces and offices in Central London.

The company was founded by husband and wife team Deepak Ravindran and Emilie Vanpoperinghe and offers a choice of six different box types.
